Confrontations témoigne de la volonté de l’American Center for the Arts, dorothy’s gallery de décloisonner les genres et les techniques en art contemporain.
L’espace d’exposition s’ouvre à une variété de pratiques et de sensibilités différentes, suscitant d’étonnantes conversations entre les genres et les générations, entre artistes confirmés et en début de carrière, entre peinture numérique, photographie et sculpture.

Des explosions de couleurs de Cyril Angelidis à la méditation géométrique d’Aliska Lahusen, en passant par l’instant photographique, l’exposition propose un véritable parcours en images, en contrastes et en formes : photos contemporaines, portraits de légendes des années 1960, digigraphie, « Iphonography », photomontages, polaroids et sérigraphies se croisent pour échanger leurs visions d’un monde contemporain tour à tour joyeux, ludique, électrique, paisible méditatif, ou fantastique.

Avec : Cyril Angelidis, Aliska Lahusen, Alain Quemper, Paula Rosa, Nathalie Seroux, Romain Darnaud, Aurélie Jouan.

"In January 2009, Otto Rapp started a private network of Visionary Artists on the Ning Platform with a handful of friends. Since then, it has steadily grown and includes many well known Fantastic and Visionary artists. Many of these artists had been friends of Otto’s for decades, others are new to the fold. The yearbook, edited by Otto, is a celebration of the cooperative spirit of these artists and their accomplishments. There are over 400 pictures and illustrations on 160 pages, with essays by De Es Schwertberger, Sigrid Nepelius, Prof. Philip Rubinov-Jacobson, Helena Nelson-Reed and Delvin Solkinson, as well as numerous memorable quotes by our members. Three blank pages were added at the end of the book so people could collect signatures, if they happened to be attending an exhibition which included any of the published 201 artists."
